I HATE BABY CARROTS

Veronica Here....

I hate baby carrots.  I'm sitting here right now and my tummy is grumbling and I don't want to eat a lunch yet so I can spread it out a bit, and really the only 0 pt thing I have upstairs is baby carrots and quite frankly, the thought of eating a one makes me wanna puke!  Oh yeah, they're cute and all, all orange and babyish but they're tasteless except for a little bit of gross veggieness, and they take a long time to chew, and they suck. I'd rather go hungry.  That's all......

I'm Here, I'm Here

Veronica here (you clear now Donger?)

Ok, I'm sorry, I was blogging somewhere else because Bets sent me some good stuff to refer to, then I had to blog in kind.  Anyhoot,  yesterday was pretty good although I had a gnawing hunger at like midnight last night and it wasn't for sex!

cereal-2
milk-1
banana 1/2-1
1 pc. bacon-1
grapes-1
7 mini rice cakes-1
salad-9
Work out-2 bonus points
Wendy's chili and baked potatoe -9
Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich (delicious by the way) 2

27 pts in a neat and tidy package.

I've already used 2 pts for orange juice this morning, but I feel Reggie's cold overtaking me and I thought I needed to defend myself!

Veronica's Voice?

Betty here, wondering where my WW pal has gone? It's not like her to lay so low with nary a peep for so long.

In her absence, I will tally up yesterday's points, as was the original intent of this silly blog. For Tuesday, the last day of September, I had:
coffee 0
banana 2
Fiber One bar 2
pretzels 2
apple 2
string cheese 1
Kashi cookie (free in mail) 2
spaghetti noodles 3
sauce 1
tomatoes on top 0
spinach on side 0
Seeing as how that all adds up to an unbelievable 14 points (I've added it three different ways), I indulged in some after-training snacking, leading me to wonder whether points consumed after 10pm shouldn't be counted double? And especially when snarfed in front of a replay of The Biggest Loser? (Wasn't Jerry's 70-pound weightloss just amazing though, folks? 50 pounds at home in just 4 months!)
Bud Lite 2
Popcorn 1
Stroh's Light (amazingly delicious) ice cream 3
Total: 20

Jughead would like the world to know that on Day 3 of his symbiotic WW journey, he's down 2.5 pounds. Good for him. -B.

My 11 Point Surprise

Hey Vern: Imagine my surprise and delight to finally, finally get released from my training tonight, only to find something--what the heck?--under my windshield wiper as I tried to peel out of there. So I unbuckled and opened the door, and knew immediately who my secret admirer must be.

I was touched, until I came home and did the point calculations for a bag of Swedish Fish. Yes, I understand that there are 3.5 servings in said bag. But you and I both know that, for grownups, 7 fishies does not a serving size make. So, yeah, it's 11. And now, instead of thinking of you as my secret admirer, I must dub you my secret saboteur.

What you didn't know, my sneaky pal, is that I'm sitting pretty with 4-9 points left. I just may have 14 fishies. And a Bud Lite. -B.

That's Just Nuts!

It's Betty's Quiz Time: Guess how many points are in three tablespoons of cashews? I'll give you a minute to picture it. Cup your hand and imagine a pile of nuts there. That's three tablespoons. Not even enough to fill a child-sized Ikea bowl.

Got your guess yet?

It's 4. More than a point per tablespoon. What the heck?! I was all set to pour myself a dainty portion to accompany my lunch of a HoneyCrisp (mmmmmmm....best apple ever) and light string cheese. But hold the phone! Yep, these are the same cashews we buy in 50-gallon jars at Costco. Boohoo for Betty.

Today's point tally so far, realigned for Veronica's pleasure:
coffee 0
banana (unripe but still) 2
Fiber One bar 2
48 pretzels 2
HoneyCrisp apple 1
TJ's light string cheese 1

Vern, I've got another GS training session down yonder again tonight. What say I leave early and stop by your house for WW-sanctioned home cookin'? Whatcha got for me? -B.

Keeping Track

Hey Bets, I like the new layout, the stretch denim is entirely fitting and the piggy up top way too cute!  Good work, see that's where your professional know how will benefit us!  Being the "techie" of the two (HA!) I added a "sitemeter" reading to the right there, see it?  It's little, but it will tell us how many people visit our site, and if you click on it, it will show you from where.  That way, we can track how often Jughead gets on.  These new fangled gadgets are really something aren't they?  yippee.....

Anyhoot, speaking of tracking, here is where I am so far:

a bowl of Melaleuca brand cereal with fat free milk and half banana-4
a piece and a half of bacon (I must stop making it for Pee Wee, he doesn't eat it) 1.5
a cup of grapes (seriously, used the measuring cup and everything) 1

So, not too bad at this point, lunch will be rearing it's ugly head soon and I gotta get out there and work baby, work!

This is fun isn't it?

Go eat something Bets!

Love,
Veronica

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Points

Betty here. As most of my loyal readers know, I embarked upon my initial WW journey in early 2007. Shortly thereafter, the fam and I visited the CoCoKey indoor water park in Ohio to review it for a local parenting magazine.
The people at CoCoKey were happy to see us. Perhaps forgetting I'd be spending the weekend in a swimsuit, they greeted us with this bounty of low-fat, low-cal, low-point snacks. Sweet.
As for today...I'm at 4 points thusly:
0 coffee
2 banana (though it was under-ripe and therefore should count as zero)
2 Fiber One bar (mmmmm.....fiber....)
